We are excited to announce that we have become a growing annual festival! Be part of the first "Rock Shots" this September. "Rock Shots Rock" began as "Sex! Art! Music!" which was an historic three day "Happening"in 2009 at The Chelsea Hotel, NYC. We have returned with more art, more fashion, music and film that can be purchased year round through our growing online store and at our annual festival. Check our blog often for updates!

The Kymara Gallery and Milo, in association with The Saugerties Performing Arts Factory, present “Rock Shots Rock... The Art Of Music. The Music of Art” An Historic Happening and extravaganza of Rock, Art, Fashion, Film, and Sound, sponsored by Tish and Snooky's Manic Panic NYC.
Top Rock photographers Bob Gruen, Mick Rock, Lynn Goldsmith, Paul Zone, Marcia Resnick, Sue Rynski, Carol Fondé, Daniel Corrigan, and Ricky Longo Burrows will be displaying and selling their “Rock or Not” photos. Included will be Veretta Cobler's vintage images of the 1970's NYC club scene.
The exhibition features legendary musicians who are also highly acclaimed, internationally recognized artists. Niagara, Benjamin Miller, and Laurence Miller, participants in the early Ann Arbor , Michigan music scene will be displaying and selling their works. The Miller brothers are also presenting their soundscapes and films.
Also offered will be art works by Prairie Prince of The Tubes, Dave Pirner of Soul Asylum, Roger Clark Miller of Mission of Burma, Justin Love, underground cartoonist and writer John Holmstrom, Collage and paintings by artist Richard Boch, author of an upcoming book about the Mudd Club, and fashions featuring designs by Niagara, John Holmstrom and Beatriz Coria.
Friday, September 26th, at 8 PM, John Holmstrom will be signing and selling his book, “”The Best of Punk Magazine” and limited edition T-shirts.
Saturday, September 27th, at 3 PM, Author Bill Brown will speak about the Ann Arbor music scene and will be signing his book, You Should’ve Heard Just What I Seen: Collected newspaper Articles 1981-1984.
Rock documentaries by highly acclaimed, award winning film director Gorman Bechard: “Color Me Obsessed, A Film about The Replacements,” “Every Everything: The Music, Life and Times of Grant Hart,” and “What Did You Expect? The Archers of Loaf Live At Cat's Cradle,” will be shown Saturday and Sunday.
The Max’s Kansas City Project, a 501.C3 nonprofit organization which provides emergency funding and resources to financially distressed individuals in the creative and performing arts, for housing, medical and legal aid, as well as teen empowerment through the arts, will be selling photographs from their archive. Information about the organization will be available at the event.
The O+ Festival, a celebration of art and music that creates a bridge to access health care for artists, and takes place October 10-12 in Kingston, NY, will also have information at the exhibition. The O+ Festival is a 501 C3 non profit.

ABOUT THE KYMARA GALLERY: The Kymara Gallery, founded in 1985 in Kennebunkport, Maine promotes and preserves the creative accomplishments of artists and musicians in traditional and alternative gallery spaces. Shows are held at the gallery space located at The North Dam Mill, Biddeford, Maine, at The Kymara gallery at Geno’s Rock Club, Portland, Maine, and with community partners who share our vision of artistic freedom. Happenings are three day events that illustrate as accurately as possible historic periods during the rise of the artistic underground.
